The First Grade 5A News

To all Grade 5A Parents,

Thank you for coming to Peace One Day event and/or Parents' Day. I am sorry if I did not have the opportunity to speak with each of you. However, I look forward to the chance to meet with each of you. I hope the presentation during Parents' Day was informative. If you still have any questions or concerns, please e-mail me and I will reply as soon as possible.

As stated before, in our Grade 5 Blogger site, we will be posting news, photos, or videos of our students activities in the classroom, school, and future field trips.

News

Google Classroom App -

Students and myself will be using the Google Classroom App as another source of regular communication for the remainder of the school. Each student will receive an announcement or assignment posted on the wall. Also, students will be required as another homework assignment to reply to reflection forums by posting a comment. Please ensure that your child has access to their Google account to complete Google Classroom assignments.

Festival of Nations -

Festival of Nations is coming fast! The event is scheduled this Saturday from 10AM - 4PM.

Reminder! Students are to wear their House assigned T-shirts for the event.

Each grade 5 student signed up a time slot for an hour to help managed their grade level booth. Therefore, each student is expected to be on time for their booth duty.

Please encourage your daughter to practice her song and dance mashup routine, Happy/Shake It Off. The song and schedule for their stage performance is posted in her Google Classroom App.

Current Objectives

Unit of Inquiry

Central Idea - Reaching a resolution during periods or moments of conflict is influenced by the actions and reactions of all involved.
Lines of Inquiry - Causes of conflicts (local and global), strategies to resolve conflicts, and consequences of actions during conflict
Students first focused on conflicts and resolutions of self and school (local). At this time, we are now focusing on global conflicts, by researching historical global conflict events.

Multiply and divide any whole number from 1 to 10,000 and explain the effect
